Puppeteer Wanted

Working alongside an experienced puppeteer, the role involves voicing puppet characters for live performance and manipulating marionettes (string puppets), using simplified controls. The role will also involve assisting in the setup and strike of the marionette theatre set up before and after performances.

The role is based in the Dublin region and typically provides three to eight days work each month. The company performs a repertoire of shows, primarily in Primary schools, but also in arts centres, public libraries, festivals, corporate events and OPW venues.

The ideal candidate will likely be working freelance and ideally with some acting or performance experience – even informally. No previous puppeteering experience is required as full training will be given to the successful candidate, who will be voicing a range of female characters. The ideal candidate will have a love of performance, an enthusiasm to learn and would enjoy being part of a small ensemble company with the flexibility of working part-time.
